Quarterback Club of Washington

Quarterback Club of Washington

Founded in 1965 by prominent Washington businessman Robert J. Geoghan, The Quarterback Club of Washington has a 50-year history bringing together local business leaders, community members and sports enthusiasts who support the Washington Football Team and our other D.C.-area sports teams.

In recognition of Coach Joe Gibbs and in support of Youth For Tomorrow, several years ago Mr. Geoghan generously transferred rights to the Quarterback Club of Washington to Youth For Tomorrow to keep this tradition going strong while simultaneously benefitting the mission of YFT.

Throughout the year, Quarterback Club of Washington events and activities keep that tradition strong.

In 1969, the Club gave out the inaugural Washington Redskins "Player of the Year” Award to the now-legendary Sam Huff. Every year since, this award is given at the end of the season to the outstanding player as voted on by members of the Quarterback Club of Washington and members of the local media who cover the team.

Today, this award is proudly given during YFT's Annual Burgundy & Gold Banquet, held every spring to benefit Youth For Tomorrow.
