On May 24, 2023 the 36,700 square foot Pruitt Administrative and Behavioral Health Center ribbon-cutting took place on the YFT Campus. This facility will allow for improved efficiencies in organizational management, supervision of the professional staff and coordination of the multidimensional programs.
Based upon our experiences and community surveys, there is an exponential growth anticipated within these programs over the next several years. Space will be allocated for private offices for children and families to meet with an expanded team of psychiatrists and therapists. Dedicated rooms will be available for group therapy, play therapy and observation facilities.
The Pruitt Center also includes a complete health clinic which expands our nursing and medical services for our children on campus.
In addition to the office space for our clinicians, the Pruitt Center allowed for eight classrooms in the school building to again be utilized for educational purposes. These classrooms had been converted several years ago to office space needed for our counselors, case managers and therapists. Six modular classrooms were added to also accommodate our growth which included our expanded finance, human resources and campus operations.
A Youth For Tomorrow Therapeutic Music & Arts Center
In YFT’s 40-year history, the central issues faced by the children and families we serve are loneliness, depression, family issues, trauma, grief and loss, and other behaviors which prevent normal functioning in school, in the home, at work and in the community.
Many years of scientific research has demonstrates that the expressive therapeutic arts and creative arts benefit individuals of all ages in promoting relaxation and a sense of well-being; reducing anxiety, depression and pain; and promoting general quality of life.
Youth For Tomorrow is uniquely positioned to develop a natural merging of its expanding mental and behavioral health services and our residential treatment center. This is an exciting opportunity to expand our clinical interventions through behavioral and mental health services with the expressive and creative arts therapies in a unique setting — all within one entity, Youth For Tomorrow, New Life Center.
Art therapy can indeed be beneficial for teens and adults struggling with mental health issues. It is a form of expressive therapy that uses the creative process of ART to improve a person’s physical, mental and emotional well-being.

“To transform the life of a depressed, angry and defiant teenagers who have been drawn to self-destruction by bullying peers, neglectful parents, abuse of drugs or school truancy, we have to learn what motivates them into new behaviors and simultaneously teach them to value their own lives, create within them a desire to succeed day to day. These life-style changes put a sparkle in their eyes and a smile on their faces. We have found the best formula for such challenges – actively engaging them in the music and the performing arts.”
Dr. Gary L. Jones, CEO
