Chapel Dedication

October 7, 2017 marked the dedication of The Peterson Family Chapel at Youth For Tomorrow.

We have 10 houses for our 160 children – now we have a house for our Lord!

We are nondenominational – we serve whomever the Lord directs our way. Most certainly, faith is the foundation of all we do here. As our founder Joe Gibbs embedded in our spirit from our very beginning – our daily responsibility is teaching godly principles to our children and living by them as staff members.

The dedication of the Chapel this morning is the culmination of a goal – actually a dream – long held by our Founder, our staff and trustees.

We are eternally grateful for the philanthropy provided by one of Northern Virginia’s most prominent families – Milt & Carolyn Peterson who are with us this morning along with their daughter Lauren and son Jon and his wife Anne.  The family has been a benefactor since YFT’s very first fundraiser in 1983. Generously provided the major gift to establish this “Cornerstone of Spiritual Symbolism” on our 200 acre campus. From this will flow the love of the Lord for His children and those of us who are destined to toil in His vineyard for generations to come.

Jon is a gracious, generous, thoughtful and strategic leader on the YFT Board of Trustees for 20 years – has served as President of the Board, chairman of the Burgundy & Gold Banquet and 15 years as Chairman of the YFT Golf Classic generating over $2m. in net proceeds.

This 360 seat chapel will provide an opportunity for pastoral care programs, bible study, and spiritual counseling and will provide a place for praise and worship.

To all of you who pledged your gifts to the enduring legacy campaign of which this Chapel is an essential part - on behalf of the Board of Trustees and Board of Advisors - we thank you all!
